Location

The cottage was right on the Lighthouse Trail that wends its way (at this point) around Lower South Cove. From the main living area, the Cove was only a few metres away.

Nearby Amenities

The closest shopping was about 10 minutes away (driving) near Lunenburg.

The House/Apartment

The house was in excellent shape - newly refurbished inside.

Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living Areas

The furniture was in very good shape and the house was well kept.

Bedrooms/Bathrooms

Bedrooms were nicely appointed (bedside lamp and overhead with wall switch in each room). Only one bathroom, but all worked well, including an excellent shower.

Kitchen

The kitchen was superb - excellent 'flat-top' stove; great dishwasher. Plenty of pots and pans; dishes and silverware. Everything was of very good quality. We loved the kitchen!

Problems or Bonuses

No real surprises (except for a local rooster!). The driveway was not in very good shape, though.

Agency and Representatives (and price)

The reality exceeded the published information.

Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?

We would certainly recommend this place, particularly if you plan to cook. This is not a walking environment (at least not in the immediate area), but there are good beaches and hiking areas nearby. Plus, Lunenburg, Mahone Bay and Chester are only a few minutes away.

Fresh fish is available in a number of places (which was important for us), and you can be in Halifax in just over an hour!
