2bed/1bath apartment in Prague, Czech Republic WhenJune, 2004, 6 days LocationOn a street made up of apartment and office buildings. Very quiet at night. Convenient to city center and all historic sights. Nearby AmenitiesVery conveniently located ... everything within walking distance. Within 10 minutes of city center, and less than 2 minutes from several restaurants and bars ... but far enough away to be quiet at night. Within 5 minutes of a large grocery/department store, Tesco. Within 5 minutes of a tram line and subway station. Newstand right in front of the Tesco. The House/ApartmentOlder building, but in good shape. Paolo says they will restore it to look more historical in the near future. The building was in good shape, with a locked front door and metal, roll-down shades on the front (street side) windows. Large building with lots of apartments, but we never heard noise from other residents. All windows opened so you could have a breeze. GardenNow outside area. Ugly view out the back window. No pool. Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living AreasFurnishings okay ... everything was nice ... clean, comfortable, fairly new. Lots of storage space. Rooms are spacious, not overcrowded. Everything was clean. Nice amenities in the kitchen ... basic supplies, including dishwashing liquid, salt, pepper, etc. The kinds of things that previous renters usually leave, but are often cleaned out. Bedrooms/BathroomsI personally don't like the European thing with 2 matresses forming a double bed, but other than that, a nice room. Extra blankets and pillows in the closet. Bedside tables and dressing table, and a wall of closet space made this small room very functional. Large window. KitchenSmall but functional. Basic dishes and cookware. 4 burner stove with oven. Small refrigerator. We could have prepared meals here, but only had breakfast. Problems or BonusesLocation better than I had thought from looking at the map. Surprisingly quiet at night, esp considering how many pubs and bars there are in Prague! Agency and Representatives (and price)Our contact person was Paolo, and he was very helpful. When we had to change our dates, he responded quickly, and accommodated our changes. All charges as stated. Paolo spoke English quite well. He's Italian, and he also speaks Czech. Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?Recommended. We rented this because for us it was cheaper than any hotel rooms in the area. The apartment gave us the added bonus of room and a place for breakfast.
