The Slow Travel Community
Since the website started in spring 2000 and the message board in spring
2001, a wonderful community has gathered. Most of the community interaction
takes place on the Message Board, but community is also strengthened by our reviews (vacation
rentals, hotels, restaurants), our Trip Reports and our Photo Gallery. See
below for more information.
Note: The Slow
Travel community runs on three domains, so you will see different domain names
for the message board and the photo gallery.

The detailed information provided – such as how to get out of Florence with a rental car, or returning a rental car to Rome – where to get the acquabus from the Venice airport into the city – this was such valuable info I cannot tell you. I printed off the instructions on taking a rental car to Rome airport – my husband, the driver, said “it couldn’t have been easier if the guy was sitting on the hood of my car telling me where to go!” ( not that Im a bad navigator, mind youJ)
This is fabulous, I have been telling everyone I meet that this is the best website for trip planning, so I want to let you at the site know this as well...
