Lovely hotel in the heart of the historic district. {4 stars}

Hotel Amistad is a very comfortable modern 4-star hotel perfectly situated within a short walking distance of the Mosque/Cathedral, Alcázar and other major sights. The hotel is built into an old wall and it has a gorgeous Mudéjar style courtyard.

We stayed in room 231 overlooking the main entrance of the hotel. There was some noise coming from the occasional car and in the early morning hours I could hear the garbage pick up truck coming by. Being a light sleeper I was a bit annoyed by the noise but this did not prevent me from having a pleasant stay. The noise did not bother my husband.

The room décor is a bit corporate and without character which is to be expected in a chain hotel of this category but we knew this before arriving so we were not surprised. The bathroom was super clean and spacious with the usual bathroom goodies found in hotels of this category. The reception staff was friendly and efficient. A nice touch was the turn down service. In addition to getting the bed ready, we found on the desk a tray with a water bottle and a fresh fruit and cookie plate.

Arriving by car to the hotel can be difficult and it’s recommended to call the hotel for specific directions. Parking is available in their underground lot and the staff will take care of getting the car in and out of the garage.

Our daily room rate was €118 and €17 per day fee for the car garage.
