This is a good hotel for someone who just needs an overnight stop in Madrid before leaving from the airport - and who isn't interested in seeing the city. It’s a large, rather gaudy conference hotel which had multiple events going on while we were there. The hotel is about 15 minutes away from the train station, and about 10 minutes from the airport. We tried walking around the area, but there was nothing except for a fairly rundown children’ park, so it seemed that there was nowhere to go other than by cab into another area of town. Our room was small and predictable, in the American sense – it was clean and adequate, but had no sense of character. We opted for tapas in the piano bar area for dinner rather than the fancy restaurant, but we did have breakfast there – at 17 euros a person. Our whole bill came to 212 euros (inc. tax) for one night and two meals (for two people). This review is the opinion of a Slow Travel member and not of slowtrav.com. |
