Spain Restaurants - Sample Tapas Menu

At the venta "El Tropezon 111", a roadside restuarant in Andalucia, the tapas are displayed and served in the bar area. These are the items and prices on the tapas menu.

Cold Tapas

Tapas (singular is Tapa) are displayed in a chilled cabinet on the bar and served on a tiny plate with a slice of bread. 1.00 euro per serving.

• Alcachofa y anchoa - an anchovy skewered onto half an artichoke on a bed of lettuce
• Ensalada delicia - crab sticks, peppers, onions and tomato in oil/water
• Patatas y atun - sliced boiled potatoes with tuna, onion and oil
• Patatas alioli - chunks of boiled potatoes in garlic, mayonnaise
• Ensaladilla russa - boiled potato, green beans, tuna, boiled egg, mayonnaise
• Pimientos asado y cebolla - roasted red pepper slices with onion
• Queso curado - very strong mature sheep's cheese in olive oil
• Chorizo en manteca - spicy cured sausage in lard
• Lomo en manteca - large chunks of pork in lard
• Chicharrones - chunks of cooked pork and crackling

Racion y medio racion

Portion or half portion (both prices shown). Any meat items that say "Iberian" or "Iberico" refers to the black pig of Spain normally reared outdoors. This meat is always more expensive than white pigs reared in indoors.

• Boquerones - anchovies (8.00/5.00 euro)
• Calamares fritos - fried squid (8.00/5.00 euro)
• Rosada frita o a la plancha - red hake fried or grilled (8.00/5.00 euro)
• Jurelitos - horse mackerel (8.00/5.00 euro)
• Puntillitas - baby squid (8.00/5.00 euro)
• Bacaladilla - blue-whiting (8.00/5.00 euro)
• Fritura variada - mixture of the above fried fish (8.00/5.00 euro)
• Carne con tomate - pork chunks cooked in tomato sauce (8.00/5.00 euro)
• Filete de cerdo con patatas - pork fillet with chips (8.00/5.00 euro)
• Filete de pollo con patatas - chicken fillet with chips (8.00/5.00 euro)
• Alitas de pollo - chicken wings (8.00/5.00 euro)
• Ensalada mixta - mixed salad (3.00 euro per person)
• Ensalada de la casa - mixed salad of the house (more variation) (4.00 euro per person)
• Jamon serrano - cured ham thinly sliced (10.00/5.00 euro)
• Jamon Iberico - cured Iberian ham thinly sliced (12.00/6.00 euro)
• Queso - cheese (10.00/5.00 euro)
• Salchichon casero - homemade salami type sausage (10.00/5.00 euro)
• Salchichon Iberico - Iberian pork salami type sausage (12.00/6.00 euro)
• Chorizo casero - homemade spicy, cured sausage (10.00/5.00 euro)
• Chorizo Iberico - Iberian pork, spicy cured sausage (12,00e 6,00e)
• Lomo en manteca - chunks of pork in lard (10.00/5.00 euro)
• Caña de lomo - pork loin fillet (10.00/5.00 euro)
• Caña de lomo Iberica - Iberian pork loin fillet (12.00/6.00 euro)
• Variado Iberico - various cold Iberian pork products (12.00/6.00 euro)
