Excellent seafood restaurant in Barceloneta

Directions: At the very bottom of Passeig Joan de Borgo overlooking the beach at Barceloneta

Two of us had an excellent lunch at this Barceloneta restaurant. They have a two course menu for 9.50 euro which was a choice of soups and stroganoff with rice but we ordered off the menu.

Started with tuna carpaccio - excellent fish lightly flavoured with ginger and onion, and lightly steamed scallops in the shell served with an outstanding lemon (lime?) vinaigrette - lots of flavour..

Then we had the specialty of the house - smoked rice paella served with seafood (a couple of prawns, calamari and fish with squid ink) - I have never met a carb I didn't like and really enjoyed this dish - my husband isn't as crazy about rice main courses but he enjoyed it as well.

With a 10 euro bottle of white wine the total bill was 78 euro.

It's a very popular restaurant with locals - the first time we went on a Tuesday in February we couldn't get in so be sure to make a reservation (English spoken on the phone). They also have tables outside but it tends to be windy at that corner.
