This tapas bar and restaurant is located on a street with many other restaurants and tapas bars. We loved this place and ate here on several occasions. They are open early in the evening and even, it seemed, through the afternoon; you might get some funny looks if you show up for tapas at 6:30, but you'll eat! They have so many wonderful plates: a little dish of "choricitos" - mini chorizo sausages cooked in red wine; "habitas" - little fava beans cooked with ham; "pimientos de Padron" which are little green peppers from the region, quickly fried in olive oil and dusted with coarse salt; and many types of "montadillos" which are bread with some sort of topping. They have wonderful wine by the glass and the staff are helpful and accomodating. There is a small dining room in back of the bar, but get there early to eat at a table or be prepared to wait. A stop at the bar for a couple of glasses of wine and a tapa or two will run you about 12 Euro, a complete meal for two about €30, unless you order a lot of seafood, which will drive the price up. This place is still a bargain even if you order lots of seafood. This review is the opinion of a Slow Travel member and not of slowtrav.com. |
