It would appear to be a great place to stay, and it may have been for many others, but our stay there was disappointing. Below is an email I sent to the agency, letting them know what I didn't like about the apartment. I didn't hear back from them at all. -------------------- Hello, I stayed at Bacardi Green from the 19th to the 26th September. I am writing to give you some feedback on our stay. I found the administrative side of things excellent, your responses were timely and efficient and I have no complaints there at all. Unfortunately I was really disappointed in the state of the apartment though. I felt that it didn't live up to what was advertised on the website at all and I wanted to let you know in the hope that things can be improved and other guests won't have a similar experience to me. Our first problem was that the apartment wasn't cleaned satisfactorily. There were still crumbs on the couch and in the cupboards and the kitchen didn't look as clean as one would expect arriving for a week's stay. The biggest problem here was the floor, which really was filthy. Our feet were always black from all the dirt on the floor, even after we had just stepped out of the shower. It took us a couple of days after we got back to get clean feet again! In general the apartment was just showing signs of wear and tear that I would expect to have been addressed. The bed coverings were old and faded and the beds weren't made as nicely as in the photos on the website. There was a bad smell near the washing machine. The power shorted out in the whole house several times. The paint on the walls rubbed off on our clothes and luggage. There wasn't enough hot water for two people to have a shower. There was only one wine glass in the house. The TV reception was bad. Our stay in Barcelona was supposed to be very special, it was our sister's birthday and our mother had given us money especially to rent somewhere nice. I think this is why we were so disappointed when the apartment wasn't what we had expected. I would not want to stay at the apartment again, nor would I be able to recommend it to anyone. I appreciate that you were at a changeover time with staff and things weren't running as usual, but as a guest I really shouldn't have had to suffer from these circumstances, especially as I was not forewarned of them nor was the apartment offered at a reduced rate during this period. I am sorry to write such an unhappy email but I thought it was fairer to you and future guests to let you know. Thank you This review is the opinion of a Slow Travel member and not of slowtrav.com. |
