Location

Montana del Mar is in an exclusive neighborhood about 5 miles outside of the town of Salobrena, in the province of Granada in Andalucia. It sits higher that the town, and has a panoramic and beautiful view of the Mediterranean and the beaches on one side, as well as a view of the snow capped mountains of the Sierra Nevada on the other. It literally provides a 360 degree views. It is in a quiet street, private and peaceful. Only the birds will disturb the total quiet.

Nearby Amenities

The villa is within walking distance of restaurants, although it is an uphill walk. The property is within 5 minutes drive of the town of Salobrena, with multiple supermarkets, restaurants, pharmacies, and any other shopping desired.

The House/Apartment

The building is almost brand new ( 2 years old) and in exquisite shape. It is a detached house, and exquisitely decorated and equipped.

Garden

The villa has its own, private pool, as well as access to a small community swim and tennis club. The outside decks, on two levels are wide, comfortable and very well equipped for viewing.

Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living Areas

The house is very well decorated and furnished. It is equipped with television with satellite reception from any country one wishes to watch. A DVD and CD player. A new and very good stove, oven, dishwasher, clothes washer, microwave oven, and all the cooking utensils required for even elaborate cuisine. The furniture is new, pretty, coordinated, and in extremely good shape. The house also has a telephone, heating and air conditioning, and all the comforts of a modern house.

Bedrooms/Bathrooms

The property has a large master bedroom with en-suite bath, and two other average sized bedrooms with one bath. All baths are clean, modern, and with separate shower and tubs. Extremely clean.

Kitchen

I am a amateur gourmet cook, and the kitchen allowed me to cook anything I desired while there. Very well equipped.

Problems or Bonuses

The good surprises are: 1 - The views and the condition of the house itself is better than expected or than pictures could portray. 2 - The second good surprise is that there were no bad surprises.

Agency and Representatives (and price)

The booking agency RentVillas.com was extremely helpful and professional. The on site manager is a delight. An American lady married to a Spaniard, she attended to all our needs promptly, courteously and efficiently.

Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?

I will definitely stay there again. I would not hesitate to recommend to anyone.

Things to do in this area

Things to do: 1 - Explore the immediate town and region. Complete with a refurbished Arab castle, beautiful beaches, and lovely 5 centuries old streets and buildings to explore. 2 - Go eastward along the Mediterranean coast, and have fresh fish or seafood anywhere. Visit the little towns, and enjoy the coastal pleasures. 3 - MUST go to Granada, an easy 40 minutes away by expressway, and visit the Alhambra Palace. A once in a lifetime experience. 4 - DEfinitely go to the mountains called Alpujarras, and stop and visit the little villages and shop. See the snow in the Sierra Nevada. Only a 30 minute drive.
