However, it was also by a very main crossroads and was, therefore, noisy. It would have been good to have been warned of this as we might then have selected somewhere else. The info on the website about the studio also said you could see the yachts in the marina, which implied that you could also see the sea! But you couldn't see the yachts at all, unless you were gifted with magic eyes! Nearby AmenitiesThe studio was near lots of good restaurants and also near grocery shops etc. Very convenient. The House/ApartmentThe building was probably 16th century or so, but inside was done up in a very modern style. The studio apartment was attractive, light and spacious and was exactly what we wanted, apart from the traffic noise and the water pressure. The building had other privately owned apartments, but we heard no noise or disturbance from others. GardenThere was a very small balcony. Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living AreasEverything was clean and comfortable, with enough chairs, etc. Bedrooms/BathroomsThe bed was comfortable enough, though we could have done with it being a bit firmer. KitchenThe kitchen and equipment was fine. We ate out most of the time, and simply had breakfast and the odd snack in the apartment. Problems or BonusesThe main problem was the extremely poor water pressure. Because of this we washed our hair as little as possible, and even had the minimum of showers! We complained to Friendly Rentals about it right at the beginning of the week, but nothing was done about it (it may not have been possible, but they could have reduced our rent). It was extremely poor and we don't believe it would have been acceptable to many visitors. Agency and Representatives (and price)They were very friendly and helpful in everything except the matter of the water pressure (see above). Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?Yes, except for things like the water pressure and slightly optimistic descriptions of the properties. So take that kind of thing into account when and if you book with them. Things to do in this areaLots of wonderful things to do and see (allow lots of time for the Museu d'Art de Catalunya up on Montjuic, and loved the Gaudi too) and places to eat. Salamanca on the beach in Barcelonetta was very good (for fish particularly). This review is the opinion of a Slow Travel member and not of slowtrav.com. |
