2bed/1bath apartment in Barrio Santa Cruz, Seville, Andalusia

When

July 2007, 3 nights

Location

The apartment is located in Barrio Santa Cruz in Seville, a perfect location for walking to most sites, bars, restaurants etc. Other buildings all around. We love this area of Seville and probably would not stay in any other area.

Nearby Amenities

Cafes, restaurants, bars, bakeries, supermarkets all easy walking distance. You would not have a car here.

The House/Apartment

It is an old building but modernised. Nothing in this part of Seville will be quiet and with windows open the street noise would be quite loud. There were several other apartments in the building, one of which is also rented by Sevilla5 and shares the rooftop terrace with the apartment we rented.

The apartment is up several flights of stairs from the street entrance door, and the door to apartment opens onto large living, dining, kitchen area. Two bedrooms and one bathroom off this main area. The kitchen is large for the size of the apartment and well fitted out - although we did not cook full meals there. Another flight of stairs took you to the roof terrace which is large - table and few chairs and a couple of loungers which were extremely comfortable.

The living room has an air conditioning unit.

Garden

Rooftop terrace is large and nice, with brilliant views over Seville. Shared with another apartment but we never saw the occupants. No pool.

Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living Areas

Everything was in excellent condition and comfortable. Depending on numbers seating could be a small issue. In the lounge/dining area there is one sofa - a three-seater but you would need to be small(ish) for three to be comfortable on it for any period of time. Four chairs at the table. The apartment was very clean.

Bedrooms/Bathrooms

Main bedroom had a double bed and good sized wardrobe. Other bedroom had two singles. All beds comfortable. Bathroom OK - hard not to cause minor flooding from the shower. Plenty of towels provided. Plenty of toilet paper provided.

Kitchen

Kitchen large for overall size of apartment and very well equipped. We only made breakfast there but would be perfectly adequate for preparing full meals.

Problems or Bonuses

As it was July and very hot, we were keen to rent an apartment with air conditioning. The only minor surprise was that there is only an air conditioning unit in the living room and not the bedrooms. We found by leaving the bedroom doors open we got some benefit from it and slept OK. All else was exactly as expected or better.

Agency and Representatives (and price)

The agency was great to deal with - very pleasant and very professional. We were met at the apartment by one of the representatives who also returned the day we left to give us back the deposit. We paid €120 per night which for this part of Seville and the quality of the accommodation we think quite reasonable.

Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?

Yes we would recommend it and yes we would stay there again. This part of Seville is very noisy and Seville is very hot in summer so if the street noise (only with windows open) or lack of air conditioning in bedrooms is an issue, perhaps consider elsewhere.

The agency was a pleasure to deal with and we would definitely rent through them again.

Things to do in this area

We live in Spain and know Seville quite well now. All the main sites of Seville are within walking distance. Many many restaurants and bars again minutes away, as well as shops for clothes etc.
