WhenOctober 2007, 2 weeks ReviewWe just returned from Barcelona a week ago (October 2007) after renting an apartment for two weeks from BCNinternet (apartment reference 199). The apartment space was great but there were many problems in the apartment and the response and service from BCNinternet was terrible. The problems included a parking garage with constant squealing of tires just a few feet from the living room and master bedroom windows. I had called BCNinternet prior to booking specifically to check on the environment around the apartment and was not told about the parking garage. The description on the BCNinternet website describes the location of the apartment as having "balconies which look down to the quiet street." The TV, dryer and light over the master bath sink were not working for the entire two-week period which was very inconvenient and disappointing. Only one set of sheets and towels were provided and without a functioning dryer we were unable to wash them during our two-week stay. But the most frustrating experience for us was the inadequate response and follow-through by the BCNinternet staff. I had to call four times to no avail. We were so uncomfortable that we actually paid extra to stay in a hotel for three nights near the end of our trip after realizing that BCNinternet was not going to take care of the problems. Needless to say we feel very ripped off. We have rented apartments on previous vacations many times before and have never experienced such bad service. After our return home, I wrote to the Director General of the company, to request some compensation for our discomfort and inconvenience. He was unwilling to offer anything other than an apology.
