1bed/1bath apartment in Seville (Sevilla), Andalusia WhenMay 2004, 4 nights LocationThe location was great because we could see the Giralda from our bedroom window. There's also a bar across the street called "Andalucia" where we heard a gentleman sing (very well, I might add!) a couple of times during our stay. Nearby AmenitiesThere's restaurants and tapa bars all along Arfe and nearby streets. There's a couple of small stores on Arfe also. You can also walk to a pharmacy, internet place, and a laundry service place from this apt. The House/ApartmentAccording to the website, the building is from the 18th century (completely refurbished in 2002.) The building appears to be in very good condition. There are a total of 5 apartments in the building. GardenThere's a roof terrace where you can hang your laundry. Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living AreasThe apartment was clean and the furnishings seemed to be in good condition. Although I wouldn't say the couch/sofa was very comfortable (I prefer softer sofas). Bedrooms/BathroomsI was expecting a queen size bed, but instead we got two single beds pushed together. They were in good shape. The toilet had a very bad odor that we couldn’t get rid of for the 4 days we were there (and we even bought air fresheners to get rid of the smell). My theory is that something died inside the tank, but I was too scared to find out! KitchenWe didn't cook any full meals in the kitchen, but there were dishes and some pots (I think). We mainly used the refrigerator to cool our drinks and didn't use the rest of the kitchen. Problems or BonusesExcept for the horrible smell in the toilet, everything else was fine. Agency and Representatives (and price)I dealt with Alicia when I booked online. She was very helpful and returned all my emails in a very timely manner. The onsite person who met us spoke very little English, so we spoke Spanish with him. He explained how the locks and air conditioning worked, but he didn't really mention how to use the washing machine. Luckily there was a brief English translation of the settings so we were able to use the washing machine (it also helped that I had my copy of Slow Travel's "How to use an Italian washing machine"). We paid 59 euro per night. They requested a 47 euro deposit beforehand (either through bank transfer or a signed fax with credit card info). Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?I would stay in the same complex again, but would definitely try to get #2 or #3 . Things to do in this areaGo tour the Cathedral and climb the Giralda. Tour the Real Alcazar. Take a walk along the Rio Guadalquivir. Enjoy a buggy ride around town. Go tapa bar hopping in Barrio Santa Cruz (definitely try Bar Giralda, Calle Mateo Gago 2). See a flamenco show. Visit Parque Maria Luisa & Plaza Espana.
