Lovely hotel with picture perfect views.

Other then the first 2 nights in Zurich I had no hotels booked for Switzerland. In Lauterbrunnen we went to the tourist office and asked about available rooms and prices. We picked this hotel because it had a solarium, pool, hot tub and sauna. We were quoted 130 CHF for a single no view or 157 CHF per person double with a view, both included 1/2 board. It is a 10 minute walk from the BOB train in Wengen but when you first arrive you call from the train station and they come fetch you and the luggage.

I picked the room with a view and it was absolutely a picture perfect view of the Jungfrau, Monch, and Eiger mountains. The rooms were immaculate. I walked around in white socks and they stayed spotless. The floors are cork. Down bedding (the maid came in every night during dinner and straightened things, replaced the towels and turned down the beds). The room had a balcony.

The hotel has a small piano bar, outside after dinner seating on the verandah under a terrace, a conversation room adjacent to the lovely large dining area. Breakfast was a large buffet of hot and cold food, juices, coffee, tea, and many breads and cheeses. Dinner we were told was between 7:30 and 10pm. Dinner was a 4 sometimes 5 course meal that started at 7:30 and didn't end until 10. The menu was posted outside the diningroom every morning. There were 3 different entree selections to chose from nightly.

The owners along with a barrage of staff are always there to help you with anything. Total cost for a double room with a view for 4 nights was 1270 CHF or 984.03 USD. Switzerland is very expensive. I figured I would have spent easily 1/4 (probably more) of that bill on food eating out 8 meals and not had near the caliber of meals we enjoyed at the hotel. I would highly recommend this hotel.
