A lovely hotel in a quiet residential neighborhood on the edge of old town. Highly recommended.

We tried this hotel in 2002 because we wanted a quiet hotel out of the main city area. This small hotel (31 rooms) in an older, remodelled building (1835) is in a residential neighborhood near the Art Gallery - just outside of the Old Town. It is recommended in the Karen Brown book.

We liked this hotel and will stay there again. You can walk to Bahnhofstrasse in 15 minutes. The restaurants and shops of Old Town and Seefeldstrasse are closer. Hotel is on a quiet side street. Our bed was small - an American double I think. My only complaint is about the bed - it was small and the down comforter was smaller. Breakfast not included - 13.80CHF (about $9) each served in the room and including eggs (breakfast was excellent). Our room had windows all along one side, had a nice sitting area and was quiet.

4 stars, expensive, 350 CHF per night ($250).
