Vacation rentals in Switzerland (chalets, farms, apartments)
Review 232: Jean-Jacques Imhoff, Marigny
1bed/1bath apartment in Crans-Montana, Valais
July 1997, 1 week
We booked an apartment through the Crans-Montana Tourist Office. We phoned them the week before from Grindelwald and they sent us a fax with listings to the Grindelwald Tourist Office. The apartment we selected was represented by Jean-Jacques Imhoff agency.
We got an apartment in a new building on 3 levels plus basement and garage. Ours was the only tourist rental, some units were empty and some were vacation homes. It feels very new and empty. But there was a family with kids on one side of us and people on the other side. We only heard them on the balcony.
The apartment must be owned by someone from Slovakia and he works for a chemical company. There are clues everywhere; books about Slovakia, pottery from Slovakia, glasses with a chemical company logo. No carpeting, tile everywhere except the bedroom which is wood. The doors and cabinets are all pine. The furniture is all new, simple pine.
Both rooms have one wall of window, a glass door to the balcony and a picture window. For air you can only open the glass door. The building is all automatic lights that come on when you walk into the hall. The kitchen is good with a dishwasher and just enough plates. An iron and ironing board.
We rented this nice apartment in 1997. Many more apartment buildings were going up in this area.
