Vacation rentals in Switzerland (chalets, farms, apartments)
Review 3190: Adams Alpine Eden, Apartment
apartments in the center of Kandersteg, Berner Oberland
May 2007, 8 days
We arrived by train from Umbria Italy at Kandersteg Switzerland, and we were met at the station by the Adam's who drove us to their Inn. We had such an enjoyable time there, we extended our planed stay an extra three days. The hosts were incredible. They are a couple from England, and so spoke English, which was relaxing after two weeks in Italy. We had free access to the internet from their living quarters, and we enjoyed the wonderful conversation and meal we shared during that time. Pam drove us to special place to go hiking and have lunch, then came and picked us up later. We spent five weeks in Europe from the end of April to the beginning of June, in Italy, Switzerland and France. My favorite was there in Kandersteg. The beauty is unspeakable. Be aware that although the Swiss have an abundance of fresh air, most all of them smoke, and even chain smoke, in eating establishments. We do not smoke, so we had to adjust our attitude a little, coming from California.
Everything we needed was a delightful walk through a Christmas story book town. We are in our 60s, so it is really very easy.
The apartment was clean and in excellent shape, peaceful. Church bells ring. Every floor of the Adams place is stocked with books and videos, free for the borrow.
No pool, beautiful flowers. We had our own roof deck, quite large really.
This was all fine.
Bed was very comfortable, foam mattress. Towel warmer in bathroom.
The kitchen was just fine. Small studio kitchen with the basics. Nice round table.
Problems or Bonuses
The best deal was the free Internet access. In France, one hotel charged €5 for 15 minutes.
Agency and Representatives (and price)
We booked directly with the owner. They have a web page.

Things to do in this area
We hiked, took a class on nordic walking (really helped me to get around, in fact I bought some Leki nordic walking sticks there and used them the rest of my trip, and I used them today here in my little town of Roseville CA. The help me keep my balance, as have neuropathy and can't feel my feet too well.)
