Another 21 km and 1400 meters of gain. We took the alternate route (Tete aux Vents) partly as we wanted to avoid more ladders and partly by mistake. It was a very long day with continuing climbs, almost continuous views of Mt. Blanc and an endless final descent to Trient and the Relais Du Mont-Blanc, which was an excellent deal just over 100 dollars for half board for the two of us! Nice private bathroom, comfortable bed, food was great -vegetable soup, rice with peas, and a sort of meatloaf.

Final day of the tour, 17 km. We stopped at Col de la Forclaz after climbing 45 minutes for coffee and shopping. We got some hats, pins, Swiss army knife etc. We passed many fields of flowers around our first stop at Alp Bovine for drinks. We next stopped at plan d au for pasta, salad and drinks. After that is was a two hour descent through forest and fields back to Champex.
