Report 121: Three Months in Holland

Trip Description: In spring of 1996, I had an opportunity to work in the Netherlands for three months. My husband George and I stayed in an apartment in Leiden that was provided by my company. During the week, I worked at our office in The Hague and on the weekends we would visit sites which were accessible within a 3-hour train ride.

In spring of 1996, I had an opportunity to work in the Netherlands for three months. My husband George and I stayed in an apartment in Leiden that was provided by my company. During the week, I worked at our office in The Hague and on the weekends we would visit sites which were accessible within a 3-hour train ride.

My husband is a horticulturist so we spent a lot of time visiting the gardens. Spring is a great time to visit the tulip fields along with other spring gardening activities. We traveled in the Netherlands and Belgium. We had previously visited Holland so we did not spend much time touring the museums. I would highly recommend visiting the many great art museums in the Netherlands.
