Tindholmur

I was persuaded that the island of Mykines was not for me because of its extreme steepness, which did not rest comfortably with my heart.

However I can say from having looked at the photos brought back by a friend that it is a superb island for birds. He is a fine photographer with excellent equipment but he was bowled over by the ease of obtaining close photos of puffins, gannets and arctic skuas.

The boat crossing from Vagar takes you past the small islet of Tindholmur and, as Mykines was shrouded in mist when we were at Gasadalur (last page) I am making Tindholmur the photo for this page.
