It was our 25th trip to Europe(Silver), our 15th to Italy, but this one was special. It was conceived to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary (Gold). So, we decided to revisit some of our favorite destinations in northern Italy and to take the time to truly savor them. Here is our three week itinerary:

Our final night in Venice we met our good friends of 60 years, Judy & Paul, for dinner. We got our car the next day and they stayed with us for the next two weeks. They too were celebrating their 50th — it just made good sense. Actually Judy was my girlfriend in the 8th grade — life goes full cycle.
