The view from our balcony

Our room was not ready yet so we looked around the hotel a bit and then had lunch on the patio. We had already been happy with what we saw: two infinity pools, one in the patio area and one just above the beach; and the wonderful Atlantic Ocean (strictly speaking, the Atlantic is on the San Juan side of the island and the Caribbean on the opposite site). The beach was wide and the hotel had umbrellas and lounges. We didn't use them much though because we were always in the surf, riding the waves.

We changed into swim suits in the restroom and spent an hour or so in the pool so we could hear Cathy's phone when the front desk called.

Our room turned out to be perfect. It was on the 11th floor so it was away from any noise (and there were bands downstairs way into the night). The view on the city side was great - you could see all the stores and streets and beyond that the mountains in the distance. From our balcony we had a wonderful ocean view. It was just great. Cathy and Katelyn found there was WiFi for their iPod Touches. We had a refrigerator, which was good for our milk for on the breakfast cereal we brought with us. The room was very comfortable and we spent a lot of time on the balcony looking at the ocean and the beach.

We spent the rest of the afternoon enjoying the ocean. The weather? Just as I remembered ... hot and humid and sunny. One day it rained a few drops but that was all.

Before dinner we went to a few of the dress and accessories shops across the street. Katelyn found a gorgeous dress, which became her eighth-grade graduation present from me and George. We had dinner 'at the bar', which was really a table at the patio with food from the bar. We shared three appetizers and they were delicious.
