Boston is about a six to eight hour drive, depending upon the traffic, from Philly, my town. A plane ride is about 45 minutes. And itís only a little more expensive to fly (after you factor in gas, tolls, and pit stops). This was a no-brainer decision for me. I arrived at Boston Logan about 11:45am on Wednesday, and, on Colleenís most excellent advice, hopped in the nearest taxi to her office in the Brookline neighborhood. There I deposited my luggage, and picked up my city map and T-Line pass for the public transport that Colleen had already waiting for me. The subway train stopped right outside her office, and from there I was in downtown Boston in 15 minutes. Painless!

I got off at the Copley stop, and walked several blocks over to the Prudential Center, a sparkling new and beautiful high-end office/retail space. Grabbed a bite, bought my Duck Tour ticket, and off I went. This tour was a really fun way to see the city and get to know the lay of the land. Plus our tour guide was a real hoot, and kept everyone highly entertained and well-informed during our tour. (Did you know that Paul Revere had eight children with his first wife, and eight more with his second? I didnít!) These Duck Tours are amphibious, and part of our ride was in the Charles River Ė great perspective of the town and several neat bridges, too.
