My final day in Boston, actually in Cambridge, was this morning. Colleen lives within walking distance to Harvard University and what would a visit to this area be without standing on the library steps where Love Story was filmed. The campus is just beautiful, and I walked around admiring (i.e., Ė snapping photos of) the old, brick buildings and dappled shade. I felt smarter just being there. Even saw the statue of John Harvard himself!

Later that afternoon, we drove to Plymouth and arrived at Colleen and Jimís summer cottage getaway, where we enjoyed an idyllic weekend, crowned by the Boston GTG with fellow ST-ers in the most beautiful setting!

I so thoroughly enjoyed my visit, and connecting with the good friends that I have met through the SlowTalk message boards. Long live SlowTravel. Although my visit was brief, I found Boston to be a town of many faces - Colonial, modern, clean, re-gentrified, upbeat, tasty, friendly, welcoming.
