Matera cave interior

I spent the day enjoying Matera. I walked all around the sassi, and visited two other cave houses with setups like Casa Grotta. I loved looking at all the household items.

I visited two medieval churches in Matera (not in caves). These churches are from the 1100s or so.

I spent most of the afternoon at the Archaeological Museum, which has quite a few artifacts from the Stone Age and quite a few from the Murgia.

I was sorry to have to leave Matera and my lovely apartment. It had been well worth the great effort to get there.
