We then left Arles for our two weeks in Bandol. There was a lot of traffic as we got closer to Montpellier. But then the traffic was fine again towards Bandol. We stopped at an aire for our picnic lunch and when we sat, I looked and saw a spectacular view of Cassis bay at the bottom. We had our picnic with all we purchased from Arles market.

We found Bandol to be a paradise with nice beaches, great food options, and wine of course. Flowers everywhere. When we first arrived one of the directions was to look for a school. I couldn’t see any school at all, just beautiful villas surrounded by bougainvillea and other beautiful flowers, bushes and pines. I didn’t realize the big yellow villa freshly renovated was the actual school. So we went into the wrong impasse, which was quite narrow. I had to get out of the car and guide my husband. People from a garden there were nice and the man came to help my husband and gave him tips which, helped tremendously not to damage the car.

The impasse for our apartment was larger, so we didn’t have problems there. We could drop our luggage and groceries before returning the car to an office at La Seyne Sur Mer. La Seyne had a better transportation from the rental office. We had a choice to walk to the bus or to the train. We chose the train.
