Bandol as Cassis felt more as Provence than Antibes for example or other Riviera places. People were smiling and in good mood for a chat at most restaurants, stores and at the market. This was a very pleasant feeling. At the beach, people we talked to one day sat next to us the next day with a Bonjour and we chatted and the kids played together. Beaches were very busy in the afternoon. In the morning just a few families were there. A woman retired and living in Bandol was saying this summer there were way more people in Bandol than previous years, possibly because of instabilities in other countries. We were so happy in Bandol despite some cold wind during our second week, but at least it was sunny with maybe two half days of rain only during our 14 nights stay. It was cold and raining in the rest of France during that time. We didn’t visit other towns, will do so next time we stay in Bandol. |
