Page 11 of 13: Day 11 - Sighisoara, Cluj-Napoca

This morning we left for Cluj-Napoca. I wish we could have stayed longer in Brasov as it was such a lovely city and the hotel was so well situated. For lunch, we stopped in Sighisoara, a lovely medieval town with 11 towers within the city walls. Our guide Simona recommended a place for cake and coffee and it was well worth it. Unfortunately, I can't remember the name of the place. To get there, however, walk towards the covered steps which go to the top of the hill. Take the last left before the steps and within 100-200 feet you will see tables on your right and the restaurant on your left. You have to go inside and chose you cake from the display. Very nice and a good price. Definitely eat here as the other places we saw in this town were overpriced.

The hotel that night was the Belvedere and it was from the old Communist era. Massive concrete poorly lit building with terrible air conditioning. However, the included dinner that night was very nice. An excellent vegetable soup followed by potatoes and schnitzel with dessert.
