We stopped for lunch in Nis and continued on to Sofia arriving there at 3:00. Then we met our Bulgarian country guide for a walking tour of Belgrade. This walking tour takes about 1.5 hours and was rough on those not in fairly good health. After the tour, the guide took us to a money exchange where we could exchange our Serbian Dinars for Bulgarian Lev. There was also an ATM where you could withdraw Lev. The hotel that night was the Crystal Palace Boutique Hotel and it was very nice. Big room and good air conditioning. Dinner that night was included and at the hotel. Dinner was at 7:30 and was awesome! We started with a Shopska salad and then a plate of fried fish fillets along with vegetables, bread (butter is extra). Dessert was a wonderful strawberry cheesecake. Water was provided but beer and wine was extra cost. Coffee was not served. |
