Even for the two less interested members of our party (we had had the shopping. Quid pro quo.) the museum is extensive and well worth a visit. My father was a pilot in the Royal Air Force at the end of WW2 and I was very moved at the displays for that period – they had the uniform that featured in my father’s photographs. The Blue Angels team had attracted a large audience but unfortunately the weather was not as good as on the practice runs of the previous days, with cloud cover. There was great excitement at the arrival of the new Boeing 787 Dreamliner at the airfield. In the evening, we met up with my fellow moderator Marta, who came into town for the evening. We dined at her very good suggestion of ‘Crow’, just up the road from our hotel and had a lovely evening of conversation and good food. |
