Part of the second-longest wall in the world, above Ston

A van took us all north along the coast quite a way to an arboretum which is supposed to be the oldest in the world. We had a nice hour or so here to walk around and admire all the beautiful trees and flowers. It is by the sea so every view is wonderful.

Then the van took us to Ston, a small town also along the sea.

Ston has the second-longest wall in the world ... only China's is longer! And the wall sort of looks like the Great Wall of China. It goes up the mountains by Ston. The wall was built hundreds of years ago to protect Ston's salt trade.

From Ston we walked to Broce, another tiny town, and sat on the pier to eat our lunches. The weather was once again beautiful and sunny.

After lunch we walked up a mountain and around it, walking past fields of vegetables. We walked back to Ston, had coffee, shopped a little, and returned to the hotel in the van.

After dinner, four of us went to one of the bars that line the pedestrian walkway by the hotel. It was a cool evening, and Judy ordered hot chocolate. It was as thick as chocolate pudding, and looked delicious.
