Report 2025: Airplanes, Roses, Poppies, Caves, Bridges and Paradise

Abbaye de Senanque, a picture to die for

After we arrived in Montreal on time as the flight was shorter than usual, several big airplanes arrived at the same time and the lines were huge. Unlucky we were in a line that was almost not moving and the officer was asking everyone so many questions. I had declared our canned foie gras, which is allowed.

Our luggage didn’t arrive yet to the carousel. Very bad delays at Dorval airport as usual. We then walked to Customs and were shown to the side room for luggage verification. We were now exhausted, but had to wait in a line there too. Many families were verified and they tried hard to find something with us, but nothing more than declared. We were lucky to be verified by a girl as she was careful with our things and didn’t unpack much, so it was easy to close our suitcase and bags.

One family had sandwiches seized and they had root of plants hanging outside of their luggage. Bringing plants is prohibited. One girl had two more small packs of cigarettes than allowed, and one woman had exceeded her allowance for two days, so she had to pay some taxes. So, not a big deal for long lines and delays.

We arrived home late, and I was so tired, I couldn’t sleep for some time. It was a great trip and for many weeks I had images of France in my mind. From resting perspective it was also a good vacation, but after more than four weeks we were happy to return back home.
