But no, our efforts were not for nothing. While I was waiting outside, I noticed another darker store. At first I thought it was the same store, but no and it was called modelisme and was “unfortunately” open. After finishing at the first store, we went into this second store. And guess what? It was a train and other miniature store. Of course DH and son were working on a big track around in our son’s room with a little electrical train; it is one of their passions. So, here came the expenses. A duplex TGV electrical train perfectly compatible with our system for €90, ouch! Packed in a big and nice box. The biggest puzzle was how we were going to transport it back. But we didn’t want to worry about this, it was too nice.

We then walked to a supermarket on avenue de l’Opera. I had it on our maps, but we couldn’t find it at first. It looked like a fashion store from the outside. Finally entering the store we found a big food section hidden downstairs. It had a deli section with better wines. We bought some groceries there for a picnic at our hotel and fresh bread from the neighbor Paul bakery. We didn’t have any reason to go outside for dinner, and had an excellent picnic at our hotel.

We watched the weather for our stay and since they announced nice weather, we decided to visit Paris next day and the air and Space museum in Bourget the day after.
