> SlowTrav > Trip Reports Report 472: Back to Uni to Learn Italian - A Month in PerugiaBy Pamela R from Sydney, Australia, Fall 1998 Page 14 of 31: Monday 14th SeptemberAt last we had a decent sleep – with the windows closed because it was cold – waking before the alarm. Peter left at 7.40 leaving Pamela just enough time to do some hand washing, write another fax to Dottoressa Santucci, and have a coffee at Milano, before arriving at class just on 8 o’clock. A difficult lesson – pronomi diretti e indiretti – and afterwards Pamela dropped in the rolled back film (from the broken camera) for processing and checked our e-mail. Peter returned with Debbie and Roland and we all popped into Milano for lunch [piatti di verdura and beer]. A quiet afternoon – a bit of a rest and a review of our day’s lessons. We ate in tonight [tortellini with a tomato, chilli, garlic and wine sauce]. A power failure, no doubt caused by a sudden storm, interrupted our cooking – all the apartment doors opened and the hallway was filled with people chatting by the light of torches until power was resumed, fortunately quite soon. |
