We picked Margaret up at 1 o’clock (after attending to a few necessary home chores) and we shopped at the CO-OP for food for lunch at home (prosciutto, salami, mortadella, cheeses and nice bread). After a quiet afternoon in, Pamela was tired and not looking forward to the 6–7 o’clock language lab class, and when first Maureen and subsequently Suzanna came down to say they weren’t going, the decision was easily made to follow suit. We did manage to walk up to Piazza Repubblica for a drink in the late afternoon, to share in the passeggiata, then we bought pasta from Margheritas and ate in with Margaret and Suzanna. Suzanna came along for the fresh air when we walked Margaret back to Priori.
