Our Car From Auto Europe

We arrived at the airport after our hour long limo ride to check in with an Air Transat flight from Toronto to Lyon. Our seats were in Business Class and quite comfortable for the smooth flight over. The flight stopped in Montreal for a change in crew and to pick up the majority of passengers. The plane was not full and my husband was able to move over to have extra space after the plane reached cruising altitude.

We arrived on time, in the rain. It was a bit cool, which was a pleasant surprise for us, as we had been having quite a heat wave at home before we left.

We had booked our rental car through Auto Europe on the www.slowtrav.com site and it turned out to be with National Car Rental, right at the Lyon airport. A bus comes around to pick up all rental car clients and drops you off at their door. We received our one category upgrade to a Citroen. It was a nice, spacious car with a GPS system programmed in French. The hotel valet re-programmed it for us in English. This was our first experience with a GPS system and it took a little while to get use to it. It was only programmed to work in France, as we later found out.
