Congratulations Joe!

April 17 - Sunday breakfast is pancakes and local sausage (Joe Leonard at Farmer’s Market in South Edmeston, is the international gold medal champion of ham as well as other smoked meat products. He represented the U.S. in Frankfurt, Germany at the World Food Show this past spring and won medals in 20 categories, giving him the World Cup. He is the first American to do so!) with my husband’s homemade yogurt (sweetened with local maple syrup) and we decide to go back and finish touring Cooperstown after church.

We drive around the lake, and stop at Hyde Hall, but it isn’t open for the season yet (in May, my husband and I stop back and are delighted with the charm and beauty of this ongoing restoration), a quick drive-by of the famous Glimmerglass Opera House, and a short walk around the beautiful Otesaga Hotel grounds (home to a fabulous Sunday brunch and wonderful prix fixe dinners, as well as the three star Leatherstocking golf course) overlooking lovely Otsego lake and we head home for a relaxing dinner which the Fukuda’s prepare for us!
