I spend the rest of that afternoon at CAFFE MEGARA journaling furiously and drinking my Montenegro at the bar. I have become a regular here as well. The women that run the place are kind to me and make me feel welcome. They also offer up an afternoon happy hour complete with discounted drinks and a little buffet of snacks. I know a good thing when I see it.

I have to say traveling alone during this trip changed me. I know that I will always have other women in the world to help me, be there for me, comfort me, and befriend me. I have learned that traveling with an agenda often bites you in the backside and that traveling with openness to whatever, however, whoever, is by far more freeing, more exciting, and more fulfilling. Oh, and a long slow kiss by a hot Italian man whilst in Venice isn’t half bad either…

I am still in touch with Federica and Leo. I’ve written out a card for Gabby and plan on sending it to Caffelatte so that they can give it to her. Marco, the handsome Venice man, called me out of the blue six months after I’d met him. He called to ask me when I was coming back and that he wanted to see me. I guess I gave him one hell of a kiss that night… Bologna boy is still in my life as well and I've decided he makes a great friend, though he still gets under my skin, I must confess. I try to keep my options open now. Can you blame me?
