Report 915: Lake Como and Bernina Express

Page 11 of 11: Epilogue

We have returned to summer foliage. During our short absence the crepe myrtles lining our driveway have transitioned from bare branches to significant leaves. Our back gardens are nearly completely filled in. Our summer privacy has returned.

On the negative side, a power outage has claimed the contents of our freezer and will increase the cost of the vacation by a few hundred dollars. More sadly, we have lost all the good meats that we can only get in Northern Virginia and must wait another month to restock. The battery on CJís car has died since his open glove box allowed the glove box light to drain it. Fortunately the parts have arrived and by Tuesday that problem is solved and his repaired tire is back on the car.

Finally, we canít say enough about the adventures and misadventures of the vacation. As we tried to pick our best experience, our best meal, our best day, we found it to be a daunting and insolvable task. It was simply a marvelous time enhanced all the more by Tom and Kathy.
