Julie & Aunt Anita

My sister, Anita, has been living in the Tuscany region for the past 17 years. Two years ago she and her Italian partner, Emanuele, realized a dream and bought a stone farmhouse in Sicily, in the province of Ragusa. The seemingly never-ending renovations are finally finished and they are moving on July 1st. A few days later Anita has to go to the Dolomites for ten days to guide a hiking trip. Meanwhile, my daughter, Julie, age 17, is going on a school music trip to Germany and Italy. The end of the music tour coincides with the dates that Anita will be in the Dolomites, so we agree to let Julie extend her stay in Italy and join her aunt for some alpine hiking.

Afterwards the plan is for Julie to travel by train with Anita to Sicily, and a week or so later fly home on her own from Rome. Although she canít use the music tour airline tickets (itís a charter and non-changeable) she can fly standby using my husbandís airline employee family pass.
