Report 926: My Dream Trip To Italy and France

Trip Description: A long time in the incubation stage, a long time in coming...I'm sure there were those among you who thought I'd never take this trip! 3 weeks in Italy and 1 week in France came together in the blink of an eye ~ my dream trip became a reality in April of 2005. This trip was made on the wings of others holding me up and helping me to fly on my own. For that, I am forever grateful.

Louvre Pyramid

This is not a list of great restaurants that I’ve eaten in, because I only remember the truly magnificent ones. It is not a list of what I ate, bite by bite, at each meal… because I don’t remember what I ate the day before, unless it was totally over-the-moon delicious.

This is also not a detailed look at each step I took, each place I visited and and each word I said…rather it is my thoughts as I wrote them at the end of each day, sitting on the terrace of my apartment and drinking a glass of chilled white wine…my memories of the places I went and the people I met.

Neither is it a fairytale, dream-come-true, perfection personfied kind of tale... some days were wonderful, some days were pure hell. The two combined to make a very memorable trip to incredibly memorable places.

I've not minced words, nor edited out my favorite four-letter-friend-getters that I wrote in my journal at the end of some of the less-than-wonderful days. Hopefully they won't offend your sensibilities as you read through my tale of travel. I have a bit of a potty mouth, so take it with a grain of salt or two, and skip over my 'petite swears' if you'd rather not read them!

I hope you won’t be disappointed in my little story…it was nothing short of delicious for me to live this, and I hope I transmit some of that deliciousness to you, as you read it.
