Submit Travel Notes

Send us your travel notes! These are published in the Travel Notes section for each country section. Fill out the form at the bottom of this page and then upload your travel notes.

What are Travel Notes?

Travel notes are mini-guides to specific countries, towns or regions. Or they are detailed notes about a specific travel topic. They are published in the Travel Notes sections. For example:

Do not submit Trip Reports here. Use the Trip Reports Manager to submit your trip report or travel journal.

What are Postcards?

A "postcard" is a short travel essay about a specific thing or event. It is shorter than a trip report, but is not detailed travel notes. It is intended to convey a feeling or a moment in a trip (or in life in Italy). For example:

Submit Postcards on this page, the same as submitting Travel Notes.

What format do you want the notes in?

Travel notes should be in Word or TXT format. You can upload them from your computer to our server. (If you prefer, email to them to us , but include in the email the information requested on the form below.)

Do not use special formatting because it gets lost when turned into a web page. If you have photos, email them separate from the document, with a note in the document where they are to be placed.

How do I format any photos?

A good sized article can contain three or four photos. If you would like photos to appear with anything you submit, email them to us. Format them to 72ppi and 600px wide so that the file size is small enough for email. Indicate in the article where the photo is to be placed. For example << insert photo of St. Peters >>.

If you have created a photo essay on www.slowphotos.com, include the link in your travel notes.

Submit your Travel Notes

Fill in the form below giving us your information and permission to publish your travel notes. When the form is submitted, you will be asked to upload your travel notes file. Please include your name and e-mail within the uploaded document too. Travel Notes are published with your name and state and the date they were written in the Travel Notes section for each country.

Your notes will be edited and may be changed or reformatted. Not all notes submitted will be published. We will email you if we decide your note are not appropriate for Slow Travel.

Do not submit Trip Reports here. If this is a journal of a trip, submit it on the Trip Reports Manager.
