When: October 2008

A lovely B&B, also with caravan camp sites, at the edge of town. A very good base for visiting the Cotswolds without a car.

A word about who we are and what we were looking for: 3 adults, ages 63, 73 and 80, traveling via public transportation, needing a double or twin and a single ensuite. We did not need (or want to pay for) luxury but did want a pleasant place, clean, in a safe area for walking at night, moderately-priced and comfortable.

We had a bit of problem finding a place in Moreton-in-Marsh; we tend to travel a bit spontaneously and not make reservations too far in advance. After several unsuccessful phone calls to places I had noted before we left, Fosseway Farm was recommended by another B&B that was full. It turned out to be a wonderful choice.

The only drawback was a small one -- it was at the edge of town and so nvolved a little bit of a walk, but not more than we had become used to. Moreton had been recommended as a good base for the Cotswolds for us as it was on the railroad line and also had good bus service. This was true.

Fosseway Farm had lovely rooms with nice amenities: a very nice cooked breakfast, tea and coffee in the room, hairdryer, TV, good heating. They also had a guest lounge with a TV and complimentary port and sherry with candy and snacks available. We felt very welcome and Sandra was full of suggestions for our next stop, which was Oxford.

There was also a caravan campground and parking for cars. There was a nice pub/restaurant nearby where we also felt very welcome, but for other eating choices and shopping, you needed to go into the town proper.

We enjoyed our stay there very much.
