Nice hotel in a lovely sqaure convenient to sights and the Underground. {4 stars}

I had read that London hotels were very expensive and anything under a 4 star would be uncomfortable. I had also read that www.priceline.com offered great deals in London. So after researching how the bidding process works (highly recommended) on www.biddingfortravel.com, I took the plunge and bid on a 4 star Mayfair area hotel. I won a bid for $105/night for a smallish twin bedded room overlooking the pretty square. A similiar room is listed on their website for £186.

The beds were very comfotrable, bathroom was spacious and modern, decor was fine and the room was quiet. Staff was accommodating - except when I asked if a cot could be added 1 night for my daughter who didn't want to take the tube home that night. They refused, saying the room was too small and it would be aganist the law to do so.

The common area was very nice and there is a restaurant, bar, and informal cafe on the premises for light snacks, drinks and breakfast (all overpriced in my opinion). We did not eat in any of them. We found several small breakast spots nearby which all happened to be Italian and were reasonably priced. I would stay here again, especially at that price! I was pleased with priceline and would also use them again for a London hotel.
