A charming, comfortable and economical guest house in the popular town of Broadway in the Cotswolds. A great base to explore the Cotswolds.

We stayed at this hotel for one night as part of a circular walking tour in the Cotswolds. We had a long, hard and muddy walk from Winchcombe, and arrived at the Olive Branch quite a mess. The owner Pam welcomed us warmly and took our wet and muddy clothes off to her laundry room. I think she even offered us hot tea! At the time of our stay, the owners had just acquired a new puppy, which our daughter really enjoyed. Our hosts Pam and David were warm and friendly. The next morning Pam even gave us a ride up to Snowshill Manor, where we began our next day's walk.

The Olive Branch is located in a 400+ year old building of beautiful honey-colored Cotswolds stone. We had a family room up under the eaves (the "pink" room on the website). We had a chance to peek at the other rooms, and they all looked very inviting. The guest house has eight rooms, one of which is a single. Two rooms can accommodate a family.

Breakfast is included in the accommodation price, and is the "full English" breakfast. There's a nice breakfast room and also a comfortable guest lounge.

The guest house is located on the main street of Broadway, but a bit up from the busier commercial area, which I considered a plus. Everything in Broadway could be very easily reached on foot. We walked down that night to a very good pub/restaurant recommended by Pam called the Horse and Hound... an excellent meal for three weary walkers! In 2004 when we spent a week in the Cotswolds, we drove back to Broadway to eat at this restaurant.

Broadway is a great base to explore the northern Cotswolds. There is so much to do and see in this area, and we just love it. We definitely recommend the walking, though not necessarily on the rainy days! And we also definitely recommend this guest house. We were only able to stay one night, but we would have enjoyed being here several days.
