We stayed at Trinity Capital Hotel in Dublin for the Bank Holiday weekend at the start of May. The hotel was in a good location; we walked into the city centre in a few minutes. Although the hotel is opposite the University on a map, you actually had to walk around the outside of buildings and walls to the opposite side to enter. The check-in staff were great - it was a quick and easy process. There was a small lift to get to your floor, all the rooms ran off a long, straight corridor. There were other rooms off a courtyard that I didn't see. We were in a standard room and from what I could see when staff were cleaning in the morning, the rooms all seemed similar to ours. The room wasn't huge, but it was adequate, the bathroom was spacious (shower, no bath) and the bed was a king size and very comfortable. The room was dark at night with great block out curtains, but unfortunately there was a green light that stayed on just inside the room that was annoying during the night. The rooms on our side of the corridor looked out over a fire station (!) that was alarming at first, but other than the occassional whoop or clang, wasn't really a problem. The lobby of the hotel is nice, very quirky and interesting. The restaurant downstairs we never ate in except for breakfast, which was wonderful, fresh and plentiful. You had to pay for breakfast, but we had booked online and all taxes and breakfast was included in our rate. I compared many websites for the hotel and found a rate of £239 for three people including breakfast for two nights. The only disappointment was the extra bed we had booked for our child was a folding metal bed that couldn't support her weight (she's light as a feather) and we had to fold it up and put the little thin mattress on the floor for her. Not good as we were paying for her to sleep there, too, as outlined in our booking. Other than a bit of noise during the night when revellers were returning to their rooms (hens and stag nights were big that weekend) we were happy enough with the hotel.
