Tourist Office Official Sites

www.visitbritain.com: VisitBritain works in partnership with the national tourist boards in England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales to provide impartial tourism information. (VisitBritain is funded by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport to promote Britain overseas as a tourist destination and to lead and co-ordinate England marketing.)

www.enjoyengland.com: Enjoy England, the official website of the English Tourist Board.

Region/City Tourist Offices

Many of the official tourist office sites are in the format of www.visitbath.co.uk - substitute the city name for "Bath".

www.visitsouthwest.co.uk: The official Tourist Board site for South West England including: Bristol & Bath; Cornwall; Devon; Dorset; Gloucestershire & The Cotswolds; Isles of Scilly; Somerset; Wiltshire. Accommodations listings and tourist information.

www.visitcotswoldsandsevernvale.gov.uk: Official tourist information for Cotswolds and the Severn Vale region. Includes a few links for vacation rentals.

www.statistics.gov.uk/census2001/pyramids/pages/uk.asp: On this page you see the population for all of the UK. Click on the area links on the sidebar and eventually you will see links for all towns and you can find the population for each town.


www.dft.gov.uk: Department for Transport, government website

www.nationalrail.co.uk: The Association of Train Operating Companies (ATOC) represents and supports Britain's passenger railway. Britain does not have a national railway, but has several private companies running trains. This site lets you look up schedules for all passenger trains.

www.nationalexpress.com: The National Express, buses (coaches) in the United Kingdom.
