A new experience for lovers of vegetarian, vegan and regular cuisine

Directions: Just off the centre of the city of Cardiff. The number 12 Cardiff bus passes the restaurant.

We have eaten at Canteen a number of times now and we are becoming regulars I think. It is such a refreshing restaurant, not pretentious at all with a fantastic, constantly changing menu.

The food is quite unique, with the focus on vegetarian and vegan, but with carnivores included.

Value for money is very important for us, and at £13.50 for a three course meal it is the ideal place for us. We love the busy, lively atmosphere that still maintains an 'intimate' feel. We also love the fact that the chefs often come out of the kitchen to ask us about our meal and to chat for a few moments.

The last meal we ate there was on Valentine's night and we had a perfect evening, with soft music, candles, the best falafels I have ever eaten (my family favorite), and the sticky toffee pudding was to die for (and vegan too)!

Highly recommended. Have a look at their website, it has the menus, wine list, recipes and some hidden surprises (according to the chef, Wayne).

Oh, a final word about the waiting staff who are friendly, efficent and knowledgeable about the food.
