Soho: The Star Cafe

22 Great Chapel St. , Phone: 020.7437.8778

Reviewed by: WVCyndy from WV, review #1978

When: 2006

A charming cafe with outstanding full English breakfast from 7 am, and lunch from 11:30 am. The best cup of tea I had in London!

Directions: Near Tottenham Court Tube stop.

We discovered the joys of the "Full English Breakfast" here at the Star Cafe. My husband and I had breakfast here at about 10:30 in the morning and didn't need to eat again until dinnertime, a considerable budgetary savings with the awful exchange rate in England just now (summer 2006).

We each had three eggs, broiled tomatoes, sausage, English bacon and perfect toast, with his coffee and my tea, for 5 pounds apiece. I just asked for English breakfast tea and got an oversized cup of boiling hot tea with milk already added. Heavenly! We tried other breakfast establishments after the Star, but it was the best!
